Open Studio: Creating Art, Creating Community
Open Studio is just as it sounds; an open space for artists/creatives of all
kinds and all ages to create in the presence of others, without judgment,
without the pressure of having to produce anything in particular. Last month,
there were people writing, chatting, eating, sharing ideas and inspirations,
drawing, painting, collaging, looking through creativity books, working out a
salsa dance routine...We are just starting to work on collaborative art pieces
for an upcoming show which will be a fun challenge in stretching our
imaginations.

Bring your own
materials whatever they may be - paints, pencils, paper, music, guitar, dancing
shoes, camera, computer, etc. We usually have some materials (and snacks!)
to share as well. There is no cost and no need to RSVP.

Class Description:
Creativity is a powerful state of mind that impacts all areas of life! This inspirational class will push you to explore the things that you most respond to in the world, and empower you to use those things in creative and artistic expression. We will adventure through various art forms such as writing, drawing, painting, collage, and more using mostly recycled materials. This will be a rejuvenating, integrative art experience whether you are a veteran artist or someone who claims they don’t have a creative bone in their body or anyone and everyone in between. We have much to learn from about ourselves so let's get started.

Even if you aren't able to take this class, I highly encourage you to visit reCREATE. They are a fabulous non-profit organization that gives kids and adults alike the ability to transform recycled goods into art. They have other classes, in-school programs, birthday parties, and drop-in crafting at their studio. I absolutely love this place!
